Seven Deadly Sins

Resist the Temptation of the Seven Deadly Sins While You’re on the Job.

Your Christian faith applies at work too.

The Seven Deadly Sins are alive and well in workplaces around the world. When we allow ourselves to become mired in these sins we move farther away from God. When we get caught up in behaviors that display our anger, greed, lust, gluttony, envy, and pride we’re making ourselves the center of our world rather than God.

When we get angry…we allow our temper to get the better of us and we take our frustrations out on others.

When we’re greedy…we want more, more, more.

We lust for power…we lust for a person…we lust for positions…

Believe it or not, workaholism is a form of gluttony…

We want what others have and our envy says we’re not satisfied with what God has given us…

The real root of all evil is our pride. We act as if we don’t need God. We fail to keep in mind that everything we are and everything we have is because of him.

Don’t be like the Pharisees and Scribes.

Jesus called the Pharisees and Scribes hypocrites because what they said was inconsistent with what they did.  At work we’d say they didn’t “walk the talk.”

But there are so many times when we don’t walk our talk either.

Visit each of the links above to see if you’re allowing one or more of the Seven Deadly Sins to creep into your behavior at work and to discover easy ways to change your thinking to help you live your faith at work.
